School Admissions
Pupils are admitted to Hebden Green through the SEN team at Cheshire West and Chester LA. All pupils must have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP). If a pupil is to be admitted, papers will be sent formally to the school by the SEN team for a response. If there are no commissioned places available at the school, the SEN team will work with the school to examine whether a place can be made available. This will be dependent on health and safety considerations around class sizes related to need.
If the SEN team at CWAC have indicated that Hebden Green may be suitable for your child, we will be happy to show you round. Tours are normally conducted by the Deputy Head teachers of Primary/Secondary.
If your child does not yet have an EHCP but is in the process of being assessed for one, the SEN team may have advised you to look around schools. We are happy to conduct tours in those circumstances as Early Years children are often still undergoing assessment when we show them around and in other circumstances a child may require a place due to medical needs before assessment is completed.
If you do not live in Cheshire West and Chester and are interested in finding out more about our school, please contact your local authority SEND team who will approach Cheshire West and Chester on your behalf. If you do not know who your local authority SEND team is, please contact us on 01606 594221, we will be happy to point you in the right direction.
For the last three years, Hebden Green has been over-subscribed and, to avoid disappointment, we recommend that prospective parents have had an indication from the SEN team that they could be offered at place at the school. If you need further guidance with this, please call the school.
