 Alison Ashley had been Head Teacher at Hebden Green for seven years.  Over this time the school has been awarded Outstanding in both its school and social care OFSTED inspections.  Alison is a Director of CITA teaching school and works regionally and nationally to improve the outcomes for pupils with SEND.

Harry Ziman is an experienced governor who has chaired schools of all standards and types. He has been a director of the National Governance Association and the Independent Academies Association. Harry owns a consultancy business operating across science, technology and health

 

Ashley Roberts (Co-opted Governor)

Responsibilities: Vice Chair and Safeguarding governor

Ashley’s son, who has quadriplegic cerebral palsy, has attended Hebden Green School for ten years and is presently in Pluto Class.  Ashley was elected as a Parent Governor in October 2013 and was co-opted back on to the Board in 2017 after serving the expected five years.  She is presently Vice Chair responsible for overseeing Safeguarding and Pupil Learning.

As a qualified Counsellor, Ashley has worked within the School for the last five years and with others schools, agencies and privately for many more.  Her family - three further children and her husband - were also a foster family for twelve years.  

Ashley feels passionately about the well-being of children, their families and staff, and feels sincerely privileged to work alongside them and her fellow Governors at Hebden Green.

 

Stacey Sawicki (Staff Governor)

Appointed: 22.03.18       Term Ends: 21.03.21

Register of Interests: Mother work at the school.

Stacey has worked as class teacher and Assistant Head Teacher at Hebden Green School for 13 years.  She has completed the NPQSL and SENCO award.  She is also an SLE for CITA teaching school.

 

Marcus Kelly (Co-opted Governor)

 Marcus joined the Board of Governors in December 2018 but has worked with the school for a number of years previously.

 He owns and runs a number of specialist care homes in the North West which provide care and nursing to people with complex health needs, learning disabilities and acquired brain injury.

Marcus have a wide range of experience in business and financial management as well as strategic planning and development. He is married with two children and love spending time with my family, watching Rugby, playing guitar, listening to music and travelling.

 

Peter Gaskell (Co-opted Governor)

Appointed: 01.09.18   Term ends: 31.08.21

 Peter is a retired Police Officer and first became involved with school in 1975. During his police service his roles included schools liaison, child protection, community liaison. In 1998, Peter was nominated as Cheshire’s Police Officer of the year and received his award from the Home Secretary in London. 

Peter became a school governor at Hebden in 1980 and served as Chair for 25 years. He continues to serve as a governor and Chairs The National Governors Association special schools advisory group. Hebden Green is an outstanding school led by an inspirational Head and dedicated staff who strive to educate and meet the needs of all pupils.

 

Janet Gate (Parent Governor)

Responsibilities: Safeguarding governor

Appointed: 19.12.18     Term ends: 18.12.22

Register of Interests: Treasurer of FFoHGS

Jan is a parent governor and brings her experience as a proud mum of Tom, he’s a teenager and in Pathway 1.  She is the treasurer of FFoHGS and has had the privilege of being a founding member and held the position of chairman for three years of which she is also very proud.  Her background skills are in office management, bookkeeping and accounts to profit and loss. 

 

Ben Clubbe (Co-opted Governor)

Responsibilities: Finance Governor
Appointed: 12.05.16    Term ends: 11.05.20

Ben joined the Board of Governors in 2016 and is the Finance Lead Governor. He has worked as an Investment Manager with Investec since 2002 and brings a wealth of financial expertise and relationship management skills to the Governing Body.

Ben lives with his wife Laura and daughter Martha in Tiverton, near Tarporley and in his spare time is a keen golfer.
